Abstract

Solidago canadensis, a neophytic plant species, forms extensive stands on dumps from black coal mining in the region of Ostrava. These communities, the development of which takes relatively long time, are followed by successional stages formed by woody plants. Following syntaxa have been distinguished in the area: basal community S. canadensis-[Convolvulo-Chenopodietea], derivate community S. canadensis-[Arrhenalheretalia] and derivate community S. canadensis-[Galio-Urticetea]. The deductive method of syntaxonomical classification was applied.
