Abstract

Changes in synantropic flora on 26 localities in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts., Czechoslovakia, have been studied for the past 20 years . Out of 330 species occurring in disturbed places, 163 species were not found in the natural vegelation above 980 m a.s.l. Species richness increased remarkably in all places between 1966 and 1976. The only species which disappeared after 1966 was Cardaminopsis halleri. Recently, many species which are rare in the mountain belt of the Hrubý Jeseník Mts., were found near or above the tree line (e.g. Apera spica-venti, Arabidopsis thaliana, Atriplex nitens, A. tatarica, Chenopodium ficifolium, Echium vulgare, Heracleum mantegazzianum, Impatiens parviflora, Verbascum thapsus. Their occurrence seems to be only ephemeral.
