Abstract

Fourteen species and hybrids of Oenothera were found in the river ports on the Elbe-Vltava waterway and the Danube waterway in Midlle Europe (Bohemia - part of the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary). In the ports on the Elbe-Vltava waterway 8 species (Oenothera canovirens, Oe. salicifolia, Oe. biennis, Oe. pycnocarpa, Oe. rubricaulis, Oe. erythosepala, Oe. fallax, Oe. ammophila) and in the ports on the Danube waterway 11 species (Oenothera salicifoliaia, Oe. biennis, Oe. suaveulens, Oe. rubricaulis, Oe. erythosepala, Oe. fallax, Oe. hoelscheri, Oe. biennis x Oe. oakesiana, Oe. parviflora. Oe. oakesiana, Oe. issleri) were found. The ports of the Elbe-Vltava waterway are characterized by the regular occurrence of Oe. rubricaulis and less frequent occurrence of Oe. ammophila and Oe. pycnocarpa. Oe. salicifolia was found with the higher frequency in the Danube ports in the planar level. This species is characteristic of the Danube waterway in general. The majority of the Oenothera species in the river ports may be evaluated, from the viewpoint of the classification of synanthropic plants, as apophytes or epoecophytes.
