Společenstva přirozených smrčin České republiky

A syntaxonomic evaluation of natural spruce forests in the Czech Republic was carried out on the basis of about 900 phytosoc iological relevés. Four associations of mountain climax spruce forests were distinguished, i.e. Calamagrostio villosae-Piceetum. Dryopterido dilatatae-Piceetum, Anastrepto-Piceetum, and the fern spruce forest Athyrio alpestris-Piceetum. Wet spruce forest communities were divided into 3 associations - Equiseto-Piceerum. Mastigobryo-Piceetum, and Sphagno-Piceerum. Subassociations and variants were distinguished in particular associations on the basis of difference s in their tloristic composition and habitat conditions.
