Abstract

Vegetation of five forested hills in the Bohemia-Moravian Uplands was classified within four units: 1 - natural communities (associations Dentario enneaphylli-Fagetum, Lunario-Aceretum and Festuco-Fagetum); 2 - stands with a higher cover of Picea abies than in the natural communities; 3 - plantations of Fagus sylvatica and Picea abies, and their mixtures; 4 - communities of woodland clearings. Results of numeric methods showed a high similarity of the Dentario enneaphylli-Fagetum and Lunario-Aceretum, the two associations typified according to Braun-Blanquet's procedure, and similar affinity of the Festuco-Fagetum and forest plantations. Ordination of relevés and species could be possibly interpreted as a gradient of human impact on woodland. Species richness and diversity index in forest communities decrease under human impact.
