Abstract

23 species that immigrated to a new reservoir (Rozkoš) during the 20 years after it was first filled are discussed, with respect to their distribution: 10 of these species occur at vicinity of the reservoir, 7 species are distributed in the distances between 10 and 50 kilometers of it, and 6 species are found not nearer than 50 km to it. The immigration rate was related more to life-form than to distance. The present distribution of at least some species seems to be rather habitat- than disp ersal-limited. Possible dispersal mechanisms are discussed.
