Abstract

Communities with dominant Gymnocarpium robertianum were studied in the Czech Republic and compared with similar stands in Central Europe. A total of 60 vegetation releves was collected. A new association Asplenio rutae-murariae-Gymnocarpietum robertiani was distinguished, and Dryopteridetum robertianae Kaiser 1926 is reported from the Czech Republic. Both communities were documented by synecological and phytosociological data. The species Gymnocarpium robertianum is characterised by autecological notes. Phalanx growth form with S-strategy is typical of plants growing under extreme conditions and that of guerilla with RS-strategy of those occuring in less extreme habitats.
